Better Late, than Never!

Better Late, than Never!
Disclaimer🕱-No Tasks have been delayed or harmed while writing this blog post. Writing this post was the top most priority at the time. 💀

Hello Lifectioners,

This blog would have come lot sooner if I had not lost the fight against my free time.. After so long time, finally the topic for this blog post suits best, "BETTER LATE, THAN NEVER!".
We all deal with this kind of problem everyday, in every field of life. Even struggle to fight this. It's the war with the work in hand and laziness, or disinterest. When you have a project, and you have a goal, and you can't get yourself to what you know.. You need to read this blog post.

Well, many of you would have figured out, that this time the interest in hand is
P-R-O-C-R-A-S-T-I-N-A-T-I-O-N
Better Late, than Never!
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, the definition of the word is,
to keep delaying something that must be done, often because it is unpleasant or boring.
This is the most common problem we have that figures whether we reach our designated goals.
We may have come across these lines somewhere or the other that,
Better Late, than Never!
Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”

But to reach somewhere you need to take certain action, which you have refrained since long. You knowingly or unknowingly have not given enough weights to tip the pointer of balancing scale to reach your goal.

To start of, can you think of things that you know, you need to do, something that is very important to your health, to your family, to your work, for yourself.
But, you keep putting them off.  Procrastination is the process of doing more pleasurable things in short term, than less pleasurable thing. So, you are putting off your pending tasks to a later time.
Well, it can lead to the feeling of regret, inadequacy, depression, self-doubt! It robs you from life you really desire that life you really deserve. You can read some of the effects in below link-

8 Dreadful Effects of Procrastination That Can Destroy Your Life

“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”
Enough discussing about the problem!! But here we deal with the solutions of the problem. Now, I have a bad news as well as good news.
Bad news is that you have already wasted enough of your precious time doing things irrelevant to your goal.

And, Good news is that I would be giving certain life hacks to overcome laziness with little bit of practice every single day. To help you achieve your goals. To help you getting things done. And, finally enjoy the long term goals.

Hacks Key
“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”
HACK #1-  If you are such best procrastinator, my recommendations would be that you procrastinate about procrastinating.
HACK #2-  Is to START somewhere.!!

HACK #4-  Is to make a To Do List.
HACK #5-  Is to BREAK it down
HACK #6-  Is to reward yourself.
HACK #7-  Is to come up with you WHY

HACK #8-  Is to be kind to yourself

“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”HACK #1-  If you are such best procrastinator, my recommendations would be that you procrastinate about procrastinating.
Meaning, that you postpone it off on some other day!
This is one of the best way to avoid procrastinating. If you are really the best at something, that do prove it by delaying it off.

HACK #2-  Is to START somewhere.!!
According to the Zeigarnik Effect, if you really start something, you better get it completely have a closure and they retain the uncompleted tasks more

HACK #3-  Is to IDENTIFY the root cause of procrastination.
“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”

First thing is to identify the root cause of procrastination, and follow the law- Out of sight, out of mind. is a philosophy in psychology which states that you soon forget people or things that are no longer visible or present. You tend to forget things that are out of your sight.

HACK #4-  Is to make a To Do List.
“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”

HACK #5-  Is to BREAK it down.
According to BJ Fogg, author of the book "Small Habits + Keystone Habits = Big Results!" you need to break down your big monstrous goals to small objectives in order to get things fast

“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”
If you see a target of mailing 1000 people, you won't be able to ever complete it unless you break it into certain smaller objectives.
If you need to read a book, you cannot complete the task until you start reading the first line. Let Zeigarnik Effect do the rest of the work. If you need to start flossing your teeth, you need to start with flossing 1 tooth. Who would stop after flossing 1 tooth, and ultimately you will get to the ultimate goal.

Break down tasks into chunks and do the hard ones first!!

HACK #6-  Is to reward yourself.
“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”You need to reward yourself everytime you complete an objective.
Somewhere I came across a video explaining how to teach a dolphin to jump is to reward the dolphin when it successfully attempts one.
Jump is referred to as the task in hand, and dolphin is referred to as YOU.
But to make sure, that the reward should not be in a rhythmic pattern. Do reward yourself, with no particular set of pattern, i.e., reward yourself randomly. Else, if the dolphin knows that it will be rewarded every 10th jump, it won't put enough efforts in the remaining 9 jumps. So, to produce persistent results, you need to reward yourself randomly. And, sometimes to start off with a habit, the dolphin needs to be rewarded more than the desire so as to get things started.
And, if the dolphin knows that it will be rewarded for its efforts, it would produce persistent efforts in every jump.
Rewards can be in form of breaks, by doing anything that pleases you the most.

HACK #7-  Is to come up with you WHY
Before starting a task, you need to come up with your WHY sheet. It includes writing all the WHY's of the goals you plan to achieve. This sheet will be the cheatcode for you to be back on track whenever you loose control of the steering of your life while reaching to your ultimate goal.

HACK #8-  Is to be kind to yourself
“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”

One of the most important is to be Kind to yourself. You need to be bit softer on yourself. When you fail to achieve a task, you push yourself even farther, and blame yourself. By beating yourself up, because you didn't go to the gym, or fail to do anything that you needed to do actually has a reverse effect with what you plan to do. You will ultimately land up with grief.
According to the Research in field of self compassion tells us that if you are kind to yourself, you are more likely to commit and follow through.

Like, you will read about this topic in detail in my blog,
No act of kindness is ever wasted

Be light with yourself and make a plan that you are going to do it first thing tomorrow morning. Schedule it and achieve the goal.
“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”

So, Where were we before we lost the track of time? And, what is the most important task at hand..!!???
You need to decide the answer and start working on it

RIGHT NOW.
“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”
Get your ass off the bed now, and get on with breaking goals..

To the Best of us,
With all my love,

“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.”
